My name is Dan Evans and I live in the small town of Dayton, TN. This site is designed to help with the creative process of brainstorming for new domain names. If you're looking for quick mass-domain registration, keep looking... that's not what domainbrain.us is designed for. If you simply want a memorable site to peacefully work out exactly the right name for a new web presence - without paragraphs of flashing text or tons of annoying ads, you've found a safe haven - with very few ads :)
If you're serious about your online presence and have done any kind of research into starting a website, then you already know that the name of your website is extremely important. It deserves time and effort to create.
One day... after another less than helpful suggestion of adding "my" to the beginning of a website that I had just found to be registered, I decided that current domain checking utilities are greatly wanting. They seemed to be designed for mass amounts of none-creative domain registration instead of really helping with the creative process of deciding on one good name. Personally, I'd rather spend more time and effort up front and get something good than just go with "mygreatwebsite1234.com" simply because "greatwebsite.com" was taken!
I found myself sitting in front of my computer, with a thesaurus in one hand and my mouse in the other thinking "this is rediculous... I just want to quickly check similar ideas, thoughts, phrases, words... I know most will be taken, but at least it'll my the creative juices flowing" Well, since I couldn't find the site I was looking for to help me on my creative domain registration journey, I created it (with some much needed database help from my friends James and Steve).
So there you have it. If you type in one word, domainbrain.us will check to see if that domain is available - not likely, if it's a single word, but hey... just in case :) - then it'll give you a bunch of similar words that will hopefully help you think of other phrases or a word combination that may be available. Just type in what you come up with and domainbrain.us will check it's availability.
